This car was located in Churchville,
Pensylvania USA
in the 18966 zip code. Churchville is about 5 miles north of the northrenmost
edge of Philadelphia, and is about
10 miles west of Trenton New
Jersey back when it was for sale, which it is not any longer.
The pictures below are poor quality and are not completely accurate
represenations of The Thing. It is in fairly good shape and runs very

well. It is not inspected or registered in Pennsylvania
at this time, but can with a little effort pass inspection. The Thing
is garage kept when it is not being driven, the pictures below show
it in a field, but it is NOT kept there.
The floor pans are in perfect condition and are 100% rust free. The
previous owner to me removed and replaced nearly the entire electrical
system and thus the electrical system is in mint condition. The wiring
does appear to be factory installed, the previous owner did an excelent
job with it. The windshield is brand new, it had a crack in it and I
had it replaced. The engine is not original to the car, it is a 1600
from a bus that was rebuilt by the previous owner probably 3,000 to
NO LONGER FOR SALE
10,000 miles ago.
If you look
at the second picture below you will see some rust on the drivers side
rocker pannel, this rust has spread a little bit at the front but I
think it is still repairable. The passengers side front fender is in
NO LONGER FOR SALE
poor condition and I think that it should be replaced because it has
two old dents in it that have started to rust a little bit. While the
fender is repairable, I think it would be a better idea to just buy
NO LONGER FOR SALE
a new one from The Thing Shop.
The paint is not original, it is an orange car, but a previous owner painted it
beige. They did a good job painting it 7 to 12 years ago, it's painted inside and out

but the beige paint is showing it's age and is starting to peel in a few places, nothing
major though. If you are familiar with a Thing you will know that the majority of the
NO LONGER FOR SALE
interior is just painted body pannels, all of which are in great shape.
It comes with a pair brand new never installed jet hot coated '73 through
the bumper exhaust pipes from The
Thing Shop, a good condition hard top, two poor condition soft tops,

five brand new tires (I forget the brand), a full color shop manual,
a book on it's history, and a reproduction owners manual, all from The
Thing Shop.
